Cramp Causes and Treatment

Tuesday, May 31st, 2005

CRAMP

Cramp is caused by a lack of circulation to the muscles. Muscles need oxygen and nutrients to convert into energy to allow us to play sport or perform exercises. As a result waste products are formed in the muscles. The circulation increases to meet these demands and get rid of these waste products. In people with poor circulation the blood flow isn’t sufficient to get rid of all the waste products produced by the muscles during exercise. When this happens the waste products irritate the muscles causing an involuntary contraction which we call cramp. Professional sportsmen take great care to maintain the circulation immediately after exercise so that waste products are quickly removed from the muscles and therefore reduce the danger of cramp occurring. Most often, for non-sports people, cramp is associated with stretching feet into the cold part of the bed in the small hours. In this case the cumulation of being cold and immobile in bed is enough to cause the muscles to go into cramp. Cramp is usually relieved either by massaging and stretching the muscle or getting out of bed and walking about. This improves the circulation in the short term and allows the removal of the waste products causing the cramp.

TREATMENT

Treatment with Connective Tissue Manipulation reduces the tension around the blood vessel walls and allows them to open up and allow better blood flow into the area. This improves the circulation in the longer term and reduces the frequency and the severity of episodes of cramp

Asthma - Definition, Cause and Triggering Factors

Tuesday, May 31st, 2005

What is it and who gets it? Asthma is a condition whereby the smaller airways of the lungs constrict (or narrow) from time to time, causing typical symptoms. The duration and extent of narrowing vary and they determine the degree of severity of the disease. Asthma affects people of all ages, however, it tends to starts in childhood and runs in family. Having said that, certain asthma sufferers have no family members who have asthma.

What are the symptoms of asthma? Typical symptoms are a cough, wheezing, chest tightness and shortness of breath. The severity of asthma can usually be classified according to the degree of symptoms. Each episode of symptoms may last from a hour to several days if left untreated. Death is a known but uncommon cause of severe untreated asthma.

Symptoms of mild asthma: Episodes of symptoms only during exercise or triggered by a chest or an upper respiratory infection. You are usually symptom- free between episodes.

Symptoms of moderate asthma: You display symptoms from time to time. Symptoms tend to be worst at night and early in the morning. You may be awakened at night with a tight chest and coughing.

Symptoms of severe asthma: You have symptoms on most days. You may find it hard to talk. Frequent hospitalization for asthma is also one of the criteria for severe asthma.

What causes asthma? Asthma occurs as a result of inflammation in the lower, smaller airways. No one is entirely sure why the inflammation occurs. As a consequence of the inflammation, the sensitive airway constricts, making it hard for air to get in and out of the lungs. This leads to symptoms like wheezing, breathless, chest tightness and a cough. Not only that, the inflammation also stimulates the airway to pump out extra mucus, which causes the airway to obstruct further.

What are the exacerbating factors of asthma or what can make it worse? Asthma symptoms may be triggered by certain factors. Occasionally, we do not know why it becomes worse. It is possible to avoid certain triggers to help to reduce symptoms. Identifiable triggers include:

Exercise. Exercise is a known trigger for asthma. Having said that, you should not refrain yourself from doing sports and exercises. They are actually good for your asthma. It is possible to prevent asthma symptoms while exercising by using an inhaler before you exercise.

Pollen and moulds. This is particular evident during season of hay fever.

Infection. Viral respiratory tract infections like flu or common cold are common triggers.

Smoking and air pollution.

Some medicine. Certain medicines are known to constrict smaller airways in the lungs, they include aspirin, beta-blockers and some eye drops for glaucoma.

House dust mites.

Some food. We do not know why certain food can bring up symptoms of asthma. Food like nuts, eggs and fish can sometimes trigger off an asthma attack in people who have known asthma. However, this is not a common trigger.

Emotion. Asthma has nothing to do with your ‘nerve’. However, certain emotions like stress, laughing, anxiety can all cause symptoms of asthma.

What is a Natural Disaster and What Can You Do to Prepare?

Tuesday, May 31st, 2005

Natural disasters occur when natural events occurs and interact with humans. Generally, these natural events become disasters when people have not properly prepared and/or didn’t have proper management of the emergency and the result of the natural event is disastrous to those involved. The following are facts about various possible natural disasters and what you can do if you’re threatened with one of them:

Earthquakes. Believe it or not, there are many earthquakes each day, it’s just that many of them are not large enough to cause damage or even be noticed. Earthquakes that occur on the ocean floor can cause tsunamis.

In the event that you are in an earthquake, instead of crawling under something (which could collapse on top of you) curl up next to a large object such as a sofa. It will likely not collapse completely and will leave a space next to it. If you can, get as close to the exterior walls as possible.

Floods. Floods are often caused by large amounts of rainfall or quickly melting snow – especially if the ground is still frozen. According to USA Today, floods are the second largest natural disaster in North America. In fact, from 1994 – 2003 there was an average of 84 people killed each year due to flooding.

There are two kinds of floods. Flash floods are those that are the result of a broken dam or a heavy rain that cause a quick rise of a smaller, generally harmless stream or river. If you hear a flash flood warning for an area near you, the best thing to do is get away as soon as possible. You want to get to higher ground immediately.

If you are at home and you hear a flood watch, you need to stay alert and you might also want to start moving valuables and furniture to higher parts of the house.

If you are in your car and it stalls due to rising water, you should abandon the car and walk to climb away from the water.

Blizzards. Winter storms characterized by cold temperatures and strong wind and blowing snow are blizzards. Blizzards can last for days and the damage can last even longer. If you find yourself in the middle of a blizzard, you have some time to prepare. Better yet, make the preparations before a blizzard even hits.

First of all, make sure you have a supply of food and drinkable water on hand. If the blizzard is really bad it may be several days before you can get to a store. If you can, at the beginning of a blizzard, fill up all the containers you can with water in the event that you lose your water supply. You might want to also have an alternative heat source in case your electricity or natural gas supplies are disrupted. Finally, if you lose electricity you can store perishables in snow filled coolers so that you don’t have to toss spoiled foods.

Hurricanes. These are cyclonic storms that form over the oceans and move towards land. When a hurricane is coming towards your area you need to decide whether to evacuate or to stay home. You first should consider your home. If you live in a mobile home or other home that may not be able to withstand high winds, you should evacuate.

If you decide to stay, make sure that you have emergency supplies including fresh water and food in the event that you’re not able to get food or safe water for a few days. You’ll also want to prepare your house by boarding up the windows, but only if you have time. Plus, you should have the boards prepared ahead of time and set up a system to quickly attach them to the windows. If you are in an evacuation area, you’ll want to get out as soon as possible.

So, before you ever find yourself in a hurricane watch you should have your window boarding system in place, you should have a supply of water and food and you should have an emergency plan in place with your family including where you will evacuate to and how you will contact one another in the event of a hurricane evacuation.

Thunderstorms. Thunderstorms are neat to watch most of the time, but they can turn dangerous in a moments notice. Lightening, wind, hail and tornadoes can all develop as a result of a thunderstorm and can be extremely dangerous.

Generally thunderstorms, even the most severe, last less than a half an hour, but it is possible to have a long series of thunderstorms together that can last hours. If you find yourself in a thunderstorm remember these tips to stay safe. If you are at home, stay off the phone and away from windows. You should also stay out of the bath or shower in case your house gets struck by lightening.

If you are in your car when a thunderstorm strikes, slow down and pull off if the visibility is low. You should also avoid roads that are covered in water and avoid stopping near things that could fall onto your car.

If you are outside during a thunderstorm and cannot get indoors, stay away from tall objects, metal objects and water. Crouch down and cover your head with your hands.

Tornados. While some of these natural disasters are not common to all parts of the United States, tornados are common to all of the states. There are different codes that meteorologists use to warn people of the risk of tornadoes. When the characteristics that could lead to a tornado are present, they issue a tornado watch. When a tornado has been sighted either in person or on the radar they issue a tornado warning.

Since some tornados strike at night and come on quickly without much notice, it’s a good thing to own a weather radio, which will send out both a warning tone and message when there are severe weather warnings and watches.

If you are in an area with a tornado warning, the best thing to do is to get into a storm shelter or basement to wait out the storm. If you don’t have either of these, you should take shelter in an interior room or closet on the ground floor. If you can, take shelter under mattresses and take extra care to protect children’s heads and necks.

Top Five Tips for Building an Emergency Supply Kit (According to the American Red Cross):

• To keep a three-day supply of water in your home you need four quarts of water per day per person (two quarts for drinking and two quarts for food preparation and sanitation).
• Store foods that are ready to eat and that need no refrigeration or cooking. Look for canned fruits and veggies, high protein/high energy foods and food for infants if necessary. Also include in your stores some comfort foods.
• Have a first aid kit in your home and in each car including pain relievers, antacids, laxatives and anti-diarrhea medications.
• Tools such as tape, matches, containers, whistles, maps, flashlights, eating utensils and dishes, pliers and wrenches and flares are also important.
• A complete change of clothes and footwear for each person including extra diapers and blankets for infants and young children.

Gestational Diabetes - A Cause For Concern In Pregnancy

Tuesday, May 31st, 2005

Gestational diabetes is a unique type of diabetes that occurs when a woman is pregnant. Approximately four percent of all pregnant women are affected by gestational diabetes. The disease is caused when the body is unable to properly process insulin, causing high levels of blood sugar, very similar to type 2 diabetes. It usually occurs during the second trimester, and often disappears after the child is born. Left untreated, gestational diabetes can cause harm to the fetus as well as to the mother.

What Triggers Gestational Diabetes? Gestational diabetes starts when a woman’s body is not able to make and use all the insulin it needs for pregnancy due to hormonal changes caused by pregnancy. During pregnancy, hormones from the placenta help the baby grow and develop. But these same hormones make it tougher for the woman’s body to use insulin, creating insulin resistance. In most cases, this isn’t a problem: as the need for insulin increases, the pancreas steps up its production. But when a pregnant woman’s pancreas can’t keep up with the insulin demand and blood glucose levels get too high, the result is gestational diabetes.

Who Is At Risk For Gestational Diabetes? A woman may be at risk for gestational diabetes if she is:

over 25 years of age,has a family history of type 2 diabetes, experienced gestational diabetes during a previous pregnancy,is overweight, had a previous pregnancy resulting in unexplained stillbirth or an infant with a birth weight over nine pounds; oris of African descent, Hispanic, or Native American.Expectant mothers who have gestational diabetes may experience increased thirst, tiredness, excessive urination and other symptoms similar to diabetes mellitus. Unfortunately, those same symptoms are normal for any pregnancy. As in prediabetes, gestational diabetes often has no symptoms at all. The woman’s blood sugar should be tested regularly by the prenatal medical team and at home, especially if she is considered at risk.

Babies Are Affected by Gestational Diabetes High levels of blood glucose circulating to the fetus can cause unusually large, fat babies. This is a condition known as macrosomia. Extra blood glucose goes through the placenta, giving the baby high blood sugar levels. The baby’s pancreas in turn must make extra insulin to get rid of the blood glucose. Since the baby is getting more energy from the mother’s high glucose level than it needs to grow and develop, this excess energy is stored as fat. Babies with macrosomia face health problems of their own, including shoulder damage at birth (shoulder dystocia) because they are too large to fit through the birth canal. Because of the extra insulin made by the baby’s pancreas, newborns may develop very low blood glucose levels (hypoglycemia) at birth and are also at higher risk for breathing problems and jaundice. These babies also have an increased risk for obesity and type 2 diabetes as adults. Gestational diabetes has not generally been associated with birth defects.

How Does Gestational Diabetes Affect The Mother-To-Be? Besides suffering symptoms of diabetes, women may need a cesarean section delivery to be performed if the baby is macrosomic. Expectant mothers are also at increased risk for preeclampsia, a serious condition characterized by significant increases in blood pressure. Women with gestational diabetes are at greater risk of developing Type 2 diabetes and high blood pressure later in life.

An Accurate Diagnosis Requires Testing Pregnant women at risk for developing gestational diabetes should be tested between weeks 24 and 28; earlier if there are risk factors present, and especially if the condition was present during a previous pregnancy.

If you are diagnosed, treatment includes special meal plans and regularly scheduled physical activity, which helps lower blood sugars. It may also include daily blood glucose testing and, if necessary, insulin injections. Work with your doctor, nurse practitioner, and other members of your health care team so that your gestational diabetes treatment can be adjusted as needed. Following the prescribed treatment for gestational diabetes will help ensure a healthy pregnancy and birth, and a healthy baby.

While gestational diabetes usually goes away after several weeks, it is important to remember that you have a higher risk of gestational diabetes with your next pregnancy and a greater chance of becoming diabetic later in life. One or two months post-pregnancy, get a naturaldiabetesremedy.com/what-is-a-fasting-plasma-glucose-test_49/” target=”_blank blood glucose test to ensure that your gestational diabetes is in fact gone. It is important to exercise, minimize weight gain, and maintain a healthy diet full of vegetables, fruits and minimal fats to ensure that you remain in good health.

Implants with a Lift - A Great Combination

Monday, May 30th, 2005

When a woman’s breasts lose the curvaceousness they once boasted in their younger years, it can cause one to be self-conscious regarding appearances. For many women, breast implants in conjunction with a lift renews and revitalizes self-confidence.

“Age, genetics, sun exposure, pregnancy, and many other factors can cause a woman’s breasts to sag and lose the firm, full shape she once had when she was younger,” says board certified plastic surgeon, Patrick Viscardi, from The Centre, P.C. in Elkhart, Indiana.

It is very natural for the structures within the breast to stretch over time, inflicting droop and deflation on the breasts. This condition is often amplified by pregnancy or weight gain, which puts extra stress on the breast tissue.

In order to regain full, firm breasts, the board certified plastic surgeons at The Centre, P.C. recommend a breast lift with implants.

“When women come to The Centre, P.C., we often find that a breast lift or breast implants will improve their body contour, but combining the procedures can restore a woman’s breasts to a degree that makes them look years younger,” says Dr. Viscardi, who treats women from all over Indiana, Chicago and Michigan.

A breast lift with implants grants a woman complete control over her procedure. The patient has domain over the solution inside each implant, the size of her implants, whether the implants will be above or beneath the muscle, the location of the incisions, placement of the nipples, plus much more.

It is not unnatural to experience minor bruising and swelling around postsurgical areas. The patient’s primary responsibility during the recovery period is to follow her plastic surgeon’s guidelines.

“A breast lift combined with breast implants is a wonderful solution for many women, but following the directions I provide during recovery is the key to achieving the best possible results,” says Dr. Viscardi.

If you are interested in a breast lift with implants, or simply have questions regarding the thecentrepc.com benefits and risks of this surgery, contact the board certified plastic surgeons at The Centre, P.C. with training from the prestigious institutions of Rush University Medical Center, Duke University and Mayo Clinic. Is Acne Laser Surgery the Answer?

Monday, May 30th, 2005

People who want to avoid the risks involved with prolonged use of antibiotics may consider acne laser surgery to clear up their skin. Laser surgery acne removal is a fairly new method of treatment that may seem less invasive than most of the other options available. However, it should not be your first attempt at getting clear skin. There are other ways to improve the appearance of your skin, many of which are not as expensive or potentially problematic as a surgical procedure.

When your pores become clogged, the oils that are normally excreted to the skin’s surface are trapped. As these oils mix with bacteria that is also under the skin, an infection is created. This can happen to anyone at any age after puberty is reached and can be an embarrassing problem that does not go away easily. For some, it may require the use of a treatment beyond conventional creams, ointments and supplements to get rid of the blemished skin.

Acne laser surgery works by the use of a yellow light to destroy the bacteria that produces acne. It has also been shown to increase natural collagen production which prevents scars from forming after the acne has cleared. Although acne surgery may seem like a good option, it has its side effects just like many of the other treatment options.

For some people, it is quite effective in clearing up skin. Other people have little or no results from laser acne surgery and may be left with uneven skin pigmentation. Laser acne treatment is also still in its infancy and long-term effects have not yet been determined. Many will experience discomfort and painful swelling that requires additional treatment during the healing process. Acne laser surgery will usually need to be performed on more than one occasion and multiple office visits and procedures can get quite expensive, and might not be covered by insurance.

Natural acne skincare is an effective way to avoid the uncertainty and side effects of laser surgery acne treatment. Antioxidants are one of the best ways to protect yourself from the damage caused by free radicals, harmful byproducts of chemical reactions within the body. These can be found in both vitamins C and E, which work great together. Aloe vera and similar herbal extracts are another effective natural acne treatment. They can decrease inflammation, boost your immune system, and heal infections, while acting to prevent future breakouts. There are a number of natural remedies containing these ingredients that may offer an effective alternative to laser treatment.

Acne laser surgery should not be a procedure that you choose before a lot of careful consideration. The long-term effects are still relatively unknown, and the costs can really add up. It may be worth looking into natural treatments first, as they may just be the solution to your problem.

If you have persistent blemished skin, talk to your dermatologist about acne surgery and see what he or she recommends to clear up your skin.

David Bloom is an avid health enthusiast and a regular contributor to a variety of health websites. He is the author of natural-acne-treatments.blogspot.com Natural Acne Treatments, a blog dedicated to the treatment of acne, covering conventional and natural remedies for clearing up blemished skin.

Natural Ways to Boost the Immune System

Monday, May 30th, 2005

There are natural ways to boost the immune system. Good nutrition is of utmost importance. A dietary supplement that is an immune system enhancer can be helpful, particularly for those who work in a high risk environment.

The natural ways to boost the immune system include vitamin supplementation, proper diet and adequate rest. It is also advisable to avoid stress and smoking. While short term stress, such as playing sports or dealing with an immediate threat, is a temporary natural immune system enhancer, numerous studies have shown that chronic stress blunts immune system reactions. Those who must deal with chronic stress, such as a high pressure job or a troubled relationship, typically have lower than average white blood cell counts. If you are looking for natural ways to boost the immune system and you cannot reduce chronic stress, a dietary supplement that is an immune system enhancer can help.

While taking dietary supplements can be natural ways to boost the immune system, good health habits, like washing hands after public contact and avoiding those who are sick whenever possible, are still important. The skin is the body’s first line of defense. Many viruses are airborne and avoiding them may be impossible, but germs, viruses and bacteria live on surfaces for a short time and can enter the body through the mucus membranes in the mouth, nose and eyes. This is why it is important to wash your hands before touching your face. Good health habits alone can be natural ways to boost the immune system or at least prevent the immune system from having to work so hard. These habits are particularly important during the cold and flu season.

Sometimes, no matter how hard we try to avoid them, viruses do enter the body and cause illness. Research has shown that an immune system enhancer can shorten recovery time and reduce the likelihood of developing complications from common viruses like seasonal influenza. So, a dietary supplement that is an immune system enhancer is not only helpful to avoid getting sick, but also for helping the body recover from illnesses.

Everyone can benefit from an immune system enhancer, but people who work or live in a hospital or nursing home are exposed to more germs, viruses and bacteria. People who work with the public, have children in school, college students or even those who eat out frequently are exposed to hundreds of different viruses and dietary supplements are sometimes the only natural ways to boost the immune system performance for these people who are at higher risk. Many people in these situations rely on a combination of herbs, botanicals, vitamins or another natural immune system enhancer and are happy with the results.

Vitamin C supplementation is one of the natural ways to boost the immune system. Vitamin C is considered an immune system enhancer because it strengthens blood cells and helps the body assimilate iron and other important nutrients. Calcium and magnesium help the cells of the body absorb vitamin C and supplementation with these can be counted among the natural ways to boost the immune system.

Dietary supplementation with Beta Glucans is one of the natural ways to boost the immune system. They are plant components that have been the subject of numerous scientific and clinical studies, including one which showed that people using this immune system enhancer had an increased number of helper T-cells, specialized white blood cells, circulating in the blood stream. In the scientific community, Beta Glucan supplementation is considered to be one of the natural ways to boost the immune system. Although they are found in many plant foods, oats, barley and other grains, processing foods can destroy them and destroy their effectiveness as an immune system enhancer, so supplementation is advisable.

One of the herbs that may be interesting for those who are looking for natural ways to boost the immune system is Andrographis Paniculata or AP for short. AP has a history of use in traditional Chinese medicine for the effective treatment of infection, cold, fever and inflammation. Scientists who study herbs used in traditional medicine have shown that AP may be effective for the treatment of influenza, by reducing recovery time and the risk of complications. While some herbs used as an immune system enhancer or for other purposes may be toxic when used for extended periods of time, AP has been shown in animal studies to have very low or no toxicity.

There are a number of herbs and botanicals which are believed to be immune-system-booster-guide.com natural ways to boost the immune system. Green tea, Siberian ginseng, piperine, olive leaf are a few more. Any of these may be used as an immune system enhancer. To learn more about a product that contains all of the ones mentioned here and more visit immune-system-booster-guide.com immune-system-booster-guide.com.

Perfect Vision With Acuvue Contact Lenses

Monday, May 30th, 2005

Vision problems can occur in anyone. If you suspect you are having vision problems then you will want to seek an eye doctor. The eye doctor you go to will recommend a course of either glasses or contacts depending on your vision needs. Contact lenses are usually recommended when you step above the level of needing glasses for reading or driving. Contact lenses correct refraction problems whether you are near sighted or farsighted. Contact lenses are far more comfortable than wearing glasses and will actually conform to your eye. They are also more affordable than eye surgery.

There are many companies that manufacture contact lenses. Johnson and Johnson make one of the most comfortable contacts on the market. Acuvue contact lenses are made by Johnson and Johnson. They have many options regarding contact lenses from colored contacts to those correcting astigmatisms.

When you need day- to day contact lenses Acuvue are the most comfortable. In fact as a contact wearer myself I have always used Acuvue. They were suggested to me by my eye doctor when I first started wearing contacts. Whether you have disposable contacts or year- long contacts you will need to clean your contacts on a regular basis to remove protein build up depending upon your eyes. The Acuvue contact retains the moisture your eyes produce during the day so you should never have to use rewetting drops. This moisture helps keep your eye comfortable for hours.

Acuvue also has astigmatism correction. Most individuals with astigmatism need to have weighted or torque lenses. If you are still experiencing blurred vision after seeing an eye doctor you might ask them about Acuvue’s astigmatism corrective lenses. You will find more comfort with Acuvue astigmatism corrective lenses because they allow for more moisture to reach your eye.

Most individuals who have not had eye problems their entire life may need corrective lenses, as they get older. A common eye problem is presbyopia. Presbyopia requires a bifocal lens to correct the problem; you might be thinking that you can no longer wear contacts or that contacts are not an option. Ask your eye doctor about correcting presbyopia with contact lenses.

Johnson and onlinecontactlenseshelp.com/Bifocal_Soft_Contact_Lens/ Johnson Acuvue contacts are recommended by eye doctors everywhere because they are one of the most comfortable contact lenses available. They believe in listening to their patients and making sure their patients are satisfied; therefore if your eye doctor has recommended them you probably want to try them. Contact lenses are important to sight and easy to maintain. Acuvue comes in a variety of colors as well as daily wear versus monthly wear.

The Cure For Old Age

Sunday, May 29th, 2005

Did you know that aging begins at 30! And every second somewhere in the world someone turns 50! And the quality of life for the average person stops at age 51. After that, it takes medical intervention to manage their symptoms to maintain their “health”. And only 1 in 10,000 people makes it to 100 years old… and a shocking proportion of those people who reach the age of 100 are very poor! “Aging is a barbarick phenomenon that shouldn’t be tolerated in polite society,” says University of Cambridge gerentologist Aubrey de Grey. I Gerald Armstrong the owner of Gen Cells Cures agree. The stem cell research including therapeutic cloning and genomics research needs to bo done now to accomplish our goal of finding the cure for old age.

Why doesn’t everyone want the cure for old age? You tell me I simply don’t understand why more people don’t want the cure for old age. So little money goes into research to cure old age that it’s a crying shame! Maybe it’s because people don’t believe it can be done. Since the dawn of time there have always been critics and skeptics who sit at the sidelines and say it can’t be done or that we are pushing snake oil cures etc. Make no mistake about it Gen Cells Cures has our critics. Food for thought about skeptics and critics: The difference between genius and stupidity is that genius has limits. Albert Einstein. Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistingushable from magic. Arthur C. Clark. We can easily forgive a child who is afraid of the dark; the real tragedy of life is when men are afraid of the light. Plato. Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I’m not sure about the former. Albert Einstein. Science commits suicide when it adopts a creed. Thomas Henry Huxley. In questions of science, the authority of a thousand is not worth the humble reasoning of a single individual. Galileo Galilei.

Main stream scientists are sometimes afraid to get involved in serious gerentology for fear of being branded whackos. Well. let me give it to you straight fom the horses mouth the technologies are now here to do the job. They are in our very own hands. I want to remind you that when Neil Armstrong (I like to call him Uncle Neil) became the first human to step foot on the moon, on July 20, 1969 I knew that humans would live to be 200 years old and beyond with just a little research. However since 1969 serious gerentology has been put on the back burner. Only in the past five years or so has the science of gerentolgy began to accelerate with the discovery of stem cells, cloning and rapid advances in genomics. With todays science nothing is impossible.

Lets talk about 1969 for one second, Viet Nam, Flower Power, free love, a new generation, my generation, we thought we would live forever, and we didn’t trust any one over thirty. I was right there in Hait Ashbury. I know the younger generations since then have envied our time and they should, it was the life! Jimi Hendrix’s guitar was screaming “All Along The Watchtower” and we still had Elvis too! Well, I am a baby bomer and want some of it back. Yes, I am young for 55 but I can see what’s coming around the corner for me and my fellow hippies from 1969 (If they are still alive). And it isn’t pretty. No matter what generation your from, just stop and imagine for one moment what it would be like to have your youth back. Have you ever noticed how time flys like a jet airplane. Something has got to be done and we are going to do it right here in the labs at Gen Cell Cures.

How are we going to find the cure for old age?

Through stem cell research including therapeutic cloning and genomics research. The most difficult part of the nearly unthinkable has already been done. Through therapeutic cloning technologies we can take a patients cell back to the beginning of life. Now all that’s lacking is to perfect these technologies and take them from the bench to the patient. The Koreans human cloning experiments have opened the door wider on therapeutic cloning. We here at Gen Cells Cures have found that the Korean’s new technique of squeezing out the DNA from the egg cell works much better than sucking out the DNA with a tiny needle. Their cloning process was a spectacular achievememt.

Our biologists can re-set your aging clock. It’s just a matter of time. Take a look at your own clock. What time is it? What year is it? How old am I? Where has my life gone? If you want to get the staight scoop on aging contact Miller Quarles of the “Curing Old Age Foundation” or ask Harry Bernstein (“How Do I Move On Without My Soulmate?” Newsweek). From King Tut to Howard Hughes we all face the same dread …No matter how well we succeed in life, we’re all fated to loose it in the end to that pitiless serial killer- old age.

So is Gen Cells Cures suggesting there is a cure right now? Absolutely not, and the anti-aging clinics may be just a little bit ahead of their time. We do disagree with some mainstream scientists in that they do not believe aging can be researched as a disease. We believe aging is at the top of list of the deadly incurable diseases that can be cured. The cure is just around the corner. But the research has to be done and the sooner the better because time waits for no one, no matter how big your wallet is. If you don’t reach into your wallet and do the right thing. Sooner or later you won’t even be able to lift a finger to write the check. Age can and will kill you. Make no mistake about it aging is a disease to be feared. Yes, the disease of aging brings out the fear of God. However, I believe God wouldn’t have given us the ability to cure aging if he didn’t want us to find the cure. Scientists have succeeded in extending the life of some model organisms and humans are next. Currently there is no magic pill. The magic pill will be found in research and to accelerate that research we are recomending private research. You have a family doctor and other specialists. The time has arrived for you to have your own life-sciences researchers. The future is in stem cell research, therapeutic cloning and gernomics!.

Growing old is not all fun. We’re proned to rheumatism, gout, vision loss, hearing loss, and worst of all sexual disfuntion. Some need new knees, new hips, a pacemaker. Aging can be cured the same as any other disease. There is a lack of funds and public support for genuine ant-aging research. Many people tend to see Cancer and Alzheimer’s disease as theoreticaly curable, like polio, but aging as inevitable. There will always be the nay sayers until the cure arrives. We are very excited about the future possibilities from our specialzed research. What good is it if we find your cancer cure, heart disease cure, or stroke cure if we just turn around and let you die from old age. Those of us who have become convinced that aging is the root of nearly all late-life illnesses have not yet won over those of you who have the power to fund further research. For those of you who can see the light at the end of the tunnel for curing old age as we see it clearly shining on the other side of that tunnel may contact Gerald Armstrong from Gen Cells Cures. We can discuss your personal involvement in the cure for old age and other incurable diseases. Yes, even one person can make a difference in our futures and that one person could be you.

Now the question arises how I will come to know that I am obese or not, for this there is a simple Body Mass Calculator (
